HERITAGE DAYS
Annually in June, sponsored by the Museum, the Museum & Pioneer Village comes alive with costumed volunteers, demonstrating the old ways and conversing with visitors about the simpler times. It is a chance for visitors to experience first hand the mysteries of past times.
If you would like to be involved in the planning of this special Heritage Days weekend, we could certainly use your help. We need costumed people to demonstrate past life-ways (if you haven’t a particular skill, we will train you). We need other volunteers to work behind the scenes and provide support for the logistics of the event. We may even need antique equipment, supplies, or sundries to better illustrate an activity. Please call the Museum if you would like to participate.
OLD TIMER’S REUNION
Sacramento Old-Timers are honored and given a chance to tell their stories of living in these mountains long ago.
Honorees must be at least 84 years of age and must have spent most of their life in the vicinity of the Sacramento Mountains. Those accepted for honor are photographed and interviewed, with their auto-biographies added to the Museum archives. They also receive newspaper coverage of their stories and are honored with a reception in Cloudcroft.

MOUNTAIN MUSIC
Play me some Mountain Music! That’s exactly what happens in Cloudcroft during the summer when the Museum sponsors evenings of live music and succulent homemade barbeque. Musicians from all over the Southwest are invited to participate in variety shows that feature every genre from show tunes to folk to country. Amateur and professional artists donate their time and talent to help raise funds for the operations of the Museum & Pioneer Village. Many of these musicians are seasoned veterans, who have shared the stage with various famous artists through the years.
If you would like to perform or to help behind-the-scenes with these programs, please give us a call. You’ll be well paid with barbeque and a chance to hear quality entertainment while you work!
Don’t miss your chance at an evening of food and fun. You’re guaranteed a delicious meal and a toe-tapping good time! All proceeds benefit the Museum.
