VOLUNTEERING AT THE MUSEUM

The Sacramento Mountains Museum is a non-profit organization and as with all non-profits, we depend on volunteers to help us accomplish our mission.

There are a lot of fun and exciting things going on at the Museum, but many are just dreams until our volunteers turn them into reality.

We structure your volunteer experience to your needs and interests. You may choose your hours as well as the activities that interest you the most.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Office or Clerical work

Docents (tour guides)

Reception and General Store

Collections Management – Cleaning and organizing artifacts and storage areas

Restoration Work – Artifacts that need TLC before they can be exhibited

Maintenance Work – Chores that need to be done to keep the Museum facilities in the best physical condition

Special Projects – Reconstructing donated buildings, cleaning and organizing maintenance and storage areas, etc.

Special Events – Living History re-enactments, fundraisers, Old-Timer’s Reunions, manning information booths at Village events, etc.

Many of our volunteers are members of the RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) and enjoy benefits such as reimbursement for mileage.

Please consider giving us the gift of your time and expertise. Call the Museum at 682-2932 for more information.
